Escambia County beat Vigor 69-52 in its season opener on Nov. 16 at home in Cornell Torrence Gymnasium.

The Blue Devils led 29-18 at halftime, and 42-26 at the end of the third period.

Lue Williams led ECHS, going a perfect 13-for-13 from the field and 6-for-6 from the 3-point line. He scored 34 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots.

Malik Brown followed Williams with 16 points, and Jordaun Patterson had six assists.

ECHS played in a tournament in Gulf Shores on Monday and Tuesday, and game information will be published in next week’s edition.

In girls action, VHS won 48-15.
