Northview put together a dominating first half as the Chiefs rolled to a 49-21 victory over Freeport, Fla. tonight.
The Chiefs locked in mentally and physically, and focused on the task at hand, NHS head football coach Derek Marshman said.
“We knew we had a big opportunity in front of us,” he said. “We were hitting on all cylinders.”
With the win, the Chiefs will play at home next week in the first round of the FHSAA’s Class 1A state playoffs.
NHS led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter, and 42-7 at halftime.
Marshman said the boys ran the ball well, and blocked well on offense. Additionally, he said he felt the defense was real physical, a first this season.
NHS won’t know who it will face until Sunday morning, when the playoff brackets are released by the FHSAA.
