Missing woman found near Jay, Fla.

The body of a woman found on Dec. 9 at Escambia River near Jay, Fla. was that of Eva McBride, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Bill Blair said the medical examiner from Santa Rosa County, Fla. confirmed that McBride was found last Sunday.
Blair said a deer hunter ran across McBride’s body, and the cause of death is still being investigated. The cause of death investigation is being handled in Florida, he said.
McBride was reported missing two days after Thanksgiving, around noon, according to Advance archives.
Since she was reported missing, the ECSO was assisted by about 50 volunteers, Klass Kids from the Pensacola, Fla. area and the department of corrections, and Flomaton Fire and Rescue to search the immediate area.
Authorities continued the search for McBride on Nov. 25 as Klass Kids brought tracking dogs. Additionally, the Monroe County Fire and Rescue, Alabama Sate Troopers, the Daphne Search and Rescue and numerous volunteers assisted.
The AST sent a helicopter to search the wooded areas including hunting trails, power lines and gas lines, Blair said.
The Daphne Search and Rescue searched three bodies of water in the area.
The ECSO notified all area law enforcement agencies, and the State Fusion Center has provided her photo and information to all Alabama Law Enforcement Agencies, including Florida agencies.
