It was the best surprise ever for Rachel Patterson First Grader Kaleigh Stallworth.
While distracted for a picture, Kaleigh’s mom, U.S. Army Private First Class Anisha Stallworth crept into Ms. Caroline Hughes’ class and tapped her daughter on the shoulder.
Kaleigh, when she recognized her mom, wrapped her arms around her prize and never let go.
“It feels a mazing,” Stallworth said about surprising her daughter. “I’m tired, so it feels good to be home.
The Atmore native has been serving at Fort Lee in Virginia since September. She is a fueler.
Anisha will be home for the next couple of weeks.
As for Kaleigh, she spent the rest of Wednesday with her mother.
Anisha is the daughter of Christine Lee of Atmore.
