Atmore native La’Darien Willis graduated basic training from Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri recently.

At present, Willis is a junior at Alabama A&M University, and he joined the U.S. Army reserve.

The 2016 Escambia County High School graduate is going back to college to finish up his degree in logistics and supply chain management.

He is the son of Katrina Willis and Eddie Kyles.
