Easter is always a good time with family

Easter weekend is upon us.
Every year, it’s always a special time for my family.
My older brother, a priest, is always busy and during this time, and my younger brother sometimes will come home for the occasion.
I make sure I make it home for the celebration because well, it is a celebration.
We all know the signifcance of Easter, but it’s in times like these I think about the journey that leads up to the celebration day.
Each Lent, I try to give up something or gain something, whether it be working out or promoting a healthier lifestyle.
This year, I chose to make it a point to work out each day during Lent.
That didn’t happen.
However, I’ve come to realize that starting now, another 40 days can be spent improving myself, both physically and mentally.
Last summer, I started and finished a 30-day challenge, where I did something physical each day, whether it’s walk/run, push ups and sit ups (when raining) or something that gets my heart rate up.
I miss those days.
I miss hearing the wind rustle through the pine needles at Tom Byrne Park under a dark sky.
I miss the cool breeze that greets me while the pavement passes underneath my Nike shoes.
Well, miss it no more.
I’m going to celebrate this reunion like I always do every Easter with family and friends.
