The Escambia County School System approved the following personnel recommendations at its meeting on Aug. 15.
Resignation
- Shemika Barnes, as an instructional teacher aid at Huxford Elementary, effective Aug. 6;
- Sophia Yarber, as a math teacher at W.S. Neal Middle, effective July 26;
- Alyssa Williams, as a seven-hour lunchroom worker at W.S. Neal High, effective Aug. 1;
- April Monk, as a bus driver at the Brewton Bus Shop, effective July 29
- Theresa Norman, as a six-hour lunchroom worker at Rachel Pattesron Elementary, effective July 25;
- Jude Sanford, as a special education teacher at Escambia County Middle, effective Aug. 19;

In other action, the board:
- awarded bid No. 2019-4 for CNP equipment to Mobile Fixture for $269,245.
Superintendent John Knott said the awarded bid is for lunchroom equipment.
He said the schools put combi-ovens in all schools except W.S. Neal Middle and High Schools, a commercial refrigerator was replaced at Rachel Patterson Elementary School and a serving line had to be replaced at WSNMS.
