T.R. Miller beat St. Michael 44-21 Friday on homecoming.
The Tigers’ defense put together a good night tackling, and their offense set the tone from the jump during the victory, head football coach Brent Hubbert said.
“I thought our offense came out and set the tone moving the line of scrimmage with us being able to run in the football game,” Hubbert said.
Hubbert said St. Michael scored two late touchdowns, but the team held the visiting team late.
TRM’s Ke’Von Samuel rushed for 101 yards on 10 carries and scored three touchdowns; Narkavis Campbell rushed 76 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown; quarterback Joseph Jernigan was 5-for-8 for 77 yards and a touchdown; and William Mims had three receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.
St. Michael’s Grant Murray had six receptions for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
TRM held St. Michael to -14 yards rushing on 16 attempts, and ran 343 yards on 42 carries on the night.
The Tigers host Bayside Academy next week in Class 3A, Region 1 action.
