Thelma Henson, 91, of Frostproof, Fla., passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
She was born on September 30, 1928 in Huxford to the late Littles and Ellen (Colbert) McGhee and she has been a resident of this area since 1960, moving here from Statenville, Ga.
She was a retired grader for Florida Natural and was a member of the Frostproof Church of God. Thelma enjoyed going to the Care Center in Frostproof, reading her bible, she enjoyed a clean house and was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Henson in 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Ellis (Clarence) of Frostproof and Michelle Leyva (Manuel) of Frostproof; sons, Gary Henson (Deborah) of Satsuma, Fla. and Michael Henson of Lake Butler, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 19-great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; one on the way; one great great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held this Fri., November 29, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. at the Frostproof Church of God with the Rev. Sam Haag officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
