Mr. Carl M. White, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at his home in Deatsville.
Mr. White was a native of Flomaton, former resident of Jackson and had resided in Deatsville for the past two years.
Beginning at a young age, Carl lived a life full of a passion to do God’s work. His accomplishments in the pulpit are remarkable. Over his 60-plus year career in the pulpit, Carl preached in almost every state and around the world.
He became known as one of the most well-respected Church of Christ ministers in the country. While his accomplishments in the pulpit have brought him a lot of public notoriety, his greatest accomplishment is knowing he was able to speak the Word of God to thousands.
In addition to his accomplishments in the pulpit, Carl was also retired from Bosie Cascade. He also held many degrees. Carl was a man who lived his life with integrity and put his love of God first. The impact he had on the world and beyond is incredible. In addition to his love of God and family, Carl had a passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Mildred Tatum White; infant sister, Susan; sister, Patricia White Lewis; father in law, Joseph Macks; and mother in law, Rachel U. Macks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Macks White; his children, Patricia Wade and Pamela (Tim) Withrow; grandchildren, Ashleigh (Keith) Hood, Amber (Adam) Williams and Charles “Chas” M. Wade; great-granddaughter, Harper D. Hood; great-grandson, Samson G. Landry; brother, Bill Helton; sisters, Flossie Manry Salter and Dale Rogers; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held December 7, 2019 at the Flomaton Church of Christ with Minister Billy Lambert officiating.
Burial followed at the Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation was held December 7 at the Flomaton Church of Christ.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
