Taneka Sheree Johnson, 39, of Poarch, passed away January 29, 2020 in Mobile.

She was born in Houston, Texas, on June 27, 1980.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Burkett; and she was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan.

She worked at Z-Tell in Atmore for a few years, in food services and prepared taxes.

She is survived by her parents, Brenda (Wesley) Gardner of Poarch and Thinh Tong of Houston. She had one brother; two sisters, Amanda (Scott) Flowers of Mexia and Emily Godwin (Austin Risher) of Uriah; nieces and nephews, Ashton Flowers, Chase Flowers, Raiden Risher and Emma Risher; and many family and friends.

Funeral services were held February 1, 2020, at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Gipson officiating. Burial followed in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore.

Active pallbearers were Shay Gipson, Daniel Creel, Justin Kindrick, Sam Ward, Shane Ward Shawn Ward, Allen Hall and Joe Clay Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Chase Flowers and Raiden Risher.

Visitation was held January 31 at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
