Ms. Dorothy Ellen “Dot” Nettles, 61, of Atmore, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Fri., March 20, 2020, at her residence.

A native of Atmore, Dorothy was a graduate of Escambia County High School in 1976 and a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.

She worked in food service with the Huddle House and Walmart in Bay Minette. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, watching movies and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Deacon Thomas Nettles; her mother, Annie Pearl Nettles; her sister, Resa Ann Braxton; and a brother, Thomas Green Jr.

Those left to cherish beautiful memories of her life are her son, Derek Thomas Nettles of Huntsville; one sister, Elizabeth (Lee Roy) Mobley of Atmore; one brother, John (Cynthia) Nettles of Mobile; a special niece (like a sister) Barbara (Kenneth) Toney of Montgomery; one aunt, Johnnie Mae Rudolph of Atmore; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private funeral services were held Sat., March 28, 2020, at Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Alfonso Hires officiating. Inhumation was in Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
