Hightower received 1,962 votes, compared to Jerry Carl’s 1,821.

On the democratic ticket, James Averhart beat Kiani A. Gardner 472-464.

In the court of criminal appeals judge, place No. 2 race, Beth Kellum defeated Will Smith 1,997-1,395.
