Atmore native releases new book on Creek Indians

Atmore native Lou Vickery recently announced the release of his newest book, “Alabama Creek Indians.”

Vickery’s 15th book published book, “Alabama Creek Indians” highlights historical facts about the Creek Indians in the state.

Vickery is a Alabama Creek Indian through the Moniac lineage, one of the original Poarch  Creek Families, according to a media release.

“‘Alabama Creek Indians’ is a book full of authenticity, deep and rich in illuminating information and practical facts about the history of the Creek Indians in Alabama,” State Rep. Steve McMillian said in a release. “It is a well-thought out and thoroughly researched book that offers
