Thirty years ago, in 1990, Church’s Chicken had a special “porkchop” dinner for $2.99 with a porkchop, white beans and rice, a small slaw and a 16 ounce drink.

Not a bad deal as compared to today’s prices.

The city of Atmore was planning a celebration of the first anniversary of Amtrak stopping in Atmore.

The annual Christmas Tour of Homes was scheduled for Atmore. This is one tradition that people seem to enjoy. I can remember going on one of these tours one time and I really enjoyed it. Most of us like seeing how the rest of the world decorates and celebrates the Christmas season.

Now that Thanksgiving is over we can look forward to the next holiday coming up. And then the end of a year that most of us will be glad to see go. Maybe this will help us to realize what the true meaning of Christmas is about. Speaking for myself, I am still under quarantine and know nothing about buying online, so nothing to buy.
