ECHA: 1,562 COVID cases reported

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced today that 1,562 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
This is an increase of one case since the Feb. 23 report.
According to a release, 949 (even) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 613 (+1) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,425 specimens have been collected, 3,326 have been negative with two pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 3,710 specimens have been collected with 3,063 negative results, two pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,771 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 1,185 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Sixty-eight people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
With the COVID-19 vaccines being distributed, the ECHA reports through the ADPH that 581,317 doses have been administered. More than 990,000 doses have been delivered to Alabama.
