Earl Bodiford Jr. was born January 26, 1940, on Cleverdon Farm in Foley, to the late Earl Bodiford Sr., and Annie Belle Peterson Bodiford.

Earl Bodiford, Jr. transitioned from time to eternity on June 9, 2021.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Airn Bodiford, Jessie Bodiford, John C. Bodiford, Charlie Bodiford, Marvin Bodiford and John B. Bodiford; and four sisters, Mary Burns, Shirley Bodiford Lucious, Katie Walker and Irene Jones.

Those who will remain to cherish his loving memories and continue his indelible legacy include a loving and devoted wife, Ethel Hunter Bodiford; his loving children, Ira (Denyse) Bodiford Sr. of Rome, Ga. and Anthony “Tony” Bodiford of Foley; two precious sisters, Ruthie Mae Armstrong and Lillie Ruth Lee both of Foley; 17 grandchildren, Whakia Bodiford (three children) Ira “JR.” Harpo Bodyfur (four children), Carlesha Bodiford (two children), Tyson Heard, Ashia Odom (four children), Xavess Rigsby, Caniah Bodiford, Canithia Bodiford, Rasheem Bodiford, Caleb Bodfiord, Richard McCarty, Deontay Watkins, Deonte` Bodiford, Kimara Bodiford, Noriega Bodiford (one child) Kaynala Bodiford; 14 great-grandchildren; devoted and friends, Mary Francis Hall-Miller, Ronald Washington, Gloria Bodiford, Calvin and Linda Hare, Elnora Leatherwood, Marvin “Tip” Bodiford Jr., Booker T. Heard, Harry “Hitman” Knight, Ira Shoemore, Donald Barnett Sr., Sammie Ear Minor and Adrian McNeal “Manson;” and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held this Sat., June 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Southside Missionary Baptist Church of Foley with Pastor Bennie Richardson II presiding, Pastor Sankie Reed as eulogist and Pastor Fred Cornish as host pastor.

Interment will be held in Springhill Cemetery of Marlow. Ministry of comfort is entrusted to Mayberry Funeral Home.
