Taste of South postponed until Sept. 23

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce officials announced today that this year’s Taste of the South has been postponed until next Thurs., Sept. 23 because of the weather coming in later this week.
According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood watch has been issued for Atmore from Sept. 15 at 4 a.m. until Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
According to teh NWS, there is an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms on Thursday.
The annual Taste of the South will be held on Sept. 23. from 5-8 p.m. at Heritage Park.
Chamber officials announced recently that the ticket structure has changed.
Each $10 ticket will get the participant one sample from each booth, and a ticket to vote for each of the five categories being judged. Chamber officials said Sept. 10 there will be approximately 20 booths at the event.
