ALEA troopers determined alcohol was a factor
A Fortson, Ga. woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 26 on Interstate 65 near the 57-mile marker, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Cpl. Jeremy Burkett said in a release that at approximately 8:28 p.m. on Sunday, Chasity R. Robinson, 24, was driving a 2021 Dodge Challenger when she was struck by a 2009 GMC Acadia driving by Earleen W. McCall, 57, of Perdue Hill.
Burkett said Robinson was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. for medical treatment.
Burkett said troopers determined that McCall was under the influence of alcohol.
“As a result, McCall was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and placed in the Escambia County Jail,” he said.
Nothing further is available as troopers continue to investigate.
