Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In the lead up my first L.A. Bikers annual Toyz for Kidz ride some six years ago, everyone spoke about the kids’ faces.
Being a newcomer to the Atmore area, I was looking forward to capturing the moment when these children get their Christmas delivered by a group of caring and giving bikers and organizers.
After the first stop at Bratt Elementary School, I understood.
The kids faces lighted up at the site of many presents and gifts. Tears were shed as well.
Last Wednesday, the group met for the final time at David’s Catfish House for a farewell dinner.
Organizer Peewee Powell called me and asked if I’d be available for the event, and I said I’d be available.
Going into the dinner, I still wasn’t sure what was taking place. I knew that there’d be a meal and some sort of recognition.
A speaker spoke about a group of bikers helped change many lives over the 20 years that the ride was held, and gifts were given to the urdent supporters of the event.
As I sat there eating, I thought about how much this event meant to so many, and the total impact it had.
That’s a number one can’t compute, in my opinion.
Thank you, Peewee and all those who contributed to this wonderful initiative.
