Mr. Thomas Benton Qualls, 93, passed away on Sat., Oct. 8, 2022 peacefully at his home surrounded by family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sidney (Vergie Vera Whidbee) Qualls; wife of 44 years, Gladys Powell Qualls; one son, Thomas Evans Qualls; one brother, James McCoy Qualls; and one sister, Bobbie Lee Holland.
He is survived by his one son, John “JJ” Hansen, of Mobile; three daughters, Brenda “June” (Tom) McClendon, of McDavid, Fla., Deborah “Debbie” (Sean) Dimond, of Red Level and Lisa (Kenny) Rolin, of Atmore; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 16, 2022 at Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Long and the Rev. Rickey Tedder officiating.
Burial followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jon Hansen, Chris Cook, Brian Rolin, Alex Hansen, and Conner Cook.
Honorary pallbearer was Walton (Red) Kirksey.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
