Mrs. Rosie Mae Harrison, 98, of Atmore, sang her way into eternal rest on Mon., Feb. 6, 2023 at her home.

She was born to Callie McCants and Will Lee in Hybart on July 11, 1924.

Mrs. Harrison was preceded by her two husbands, J. B. Payne and Franklin Harrison; one daughter, Lizzie; two sisters, Minnie and Ethel; six brothers, Joseph, Adam, Johnnie, John, Herbert and Johnny; two grandchildren, LaGuanda Benjamin and Christopher Andrews; and one great-grandchild, LaGuanda Shanette.

Those left to cherish the memories and embrace the legacy of her life are two sons, Herbert (Charetta) Payne and Jeremiah Payne; one daughter, Eartha Andrews; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service was held on Feb. 16, 2023 from Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Hawthorne, pastor, officiating. Retirement of her remains was in Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
