Two Atmore men were arrested May 9 on multiple drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Keshawn Pettway, 24, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (synthetic cannabis), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana II and unlawful distribution of controlled substance (ecstasy pills); and Michael Pettway, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (synthetic cannabis), possession of a drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a pistol and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (ecstasy pills).
McMann said at approximately 11:55 p.m. on May 9, an APD officer observed a vehicle displaying bright multi-colored under glow lights.
McMann said as the officer initiated a traffic stop, he observed two clear plastic baggies allegedly being thrown from the passenger side window.
“The officer approached the vehicle and observed a clear plastic baggie on the ground next to the passenger door,” he said.
McMann said the officer contacted both occupants, and upon searching the vehicle and located the clear plastic baggies allegedly thrown from the vehicle, officers recovered 28 grams of synthetic cannabis, 10 grams of ecstasy pills, digital scale, a handgun and clear plastic baggies.
Both were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
