Escambia County fell 34-12 to Flomaton tonight in a spring football game at Hurricane Field at FHS.
The spring game consisted of the varsity players playing in the first half, and the junior varsity players playing in the second half.
FHS won 28-6 in the first half. In the second half, both teams scored one touchdown each in the fourth quarter.
ECHS head football coach Vincent Harris said the spring football season went well, and the game wasn’t the outcome they wanted.
“We had so many kids coming for us in the spring,” Harris said, adding that some 65 kids participated. “I thought we did a good job. I’m just proud of them.”
Harris said they wanted to play FHS because the Hurricanes are a tough team.
“We wanted to see who we played, and who came to play,” the coach said. “The crowd was amazing. I just want to thank the city of Atmore. We’re just going to keep building. The team didn’t quit, and kept fighting.”
