Personnel with the Atmore Fire Department battled a blaze at a mobile home on 4th street near the old Escambia County Middle School on Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported by the homeowner of the mobile home, which is located at 207 4th St.

Kimberly Dixon, the owner of the mobile home, said she was in the home at the time the fire started.

“I was on my computer when the fire started,” she said. “It started in the back bedroom where the window unit air conditioning is located.”
