Alabama is an at will state. What this means is companies can fire good, honest, hard working people for no apparent reason and get away with it.

Personally, this makes me sick. My husband was fired this way and I don’t like seeing others have to go through the same thing.

It isn’t fair to people who depend on their jobs and work hard for the company and do everything they ask of him or her.

Then, at a whim of making room for lower paid employees or downsizing for whatever reason they can let you go but not others basically doing the same thing.

This is a long drawn out story and the jist of it is it isn’t right for companies to use and take advantage of hard working people and then just discard them like an old shoe without a second thought as to what they are doing to that person or his or her family.

It is so wrong. What can a person do when they lose everything they have been secure in?

Am I alone in this?
