An Atmore woman was arrested Sept. 4 on a domestic violence charge, according to officials.
Atmore Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Janice Grant, 63, was arrested and charged with domestic violence II.
McMann said at approximately 1:15 a.m. on the day of arrest, APD officers responded to Point Escambia Circle in reference to a domestic disturbance.
McMann said the officers contacted the family members involved who stated they were arguing when Grant allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the leg.
“The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released after seeking treatment,” McMann said.
Grant was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
