A big crowd turned out for the annual Taste of the South event tonight at Atmore’s Heritage Park.

The event is held for local residents, businesses and organizations to share their best cuisine.

Winners of the taste event were selected in five categories from the tasters, or participants. The categories include Best Drink, Best Commercial, Best Dessert, Best Amateur and Best Decorated Booth.

The winners included:

• Best Commercial – David’s Catfish House of Atmore

• Best Amateur – Waves Car Wash

• Best Dessert – Vin-Tiques

• Best Drink – Atmore Lions Club

• Best Decorated Booth – Southern Elegance
