Park Stallworth Young, born May 7, 1952, passed away on Oct. 22, 2023 in his home in Pace, Fla. surrounded by his family.
Park was preceded in death by his parents, Vivian Stallworth Young and Clarence Walter Young.
Park is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Gail Young; his daughter, Ashley Long; his son in law who qualified more as a son, Thomas Long; and the two greatest joys in his life, his grandsons, Triston Long and Cameron Long.
Park was born in Atmore and he lived a majority of his life in Walnut Hill, Fla. He resided in Pace at the time of his passing.
Park had a rewarding, wonderful career working in offshore oilfields. He was a superintendent and oversaw the construction and maintenance of oil rigs until he was blessed to retire at 64 years old.
Park loved a simple life, enjoying working in his shop and going on golf cart rides along trails with his grandsons and his lab, Tucker. He loved cooking for others, telling “dad” jokes, and teaching his grandsons numerous handy skills in his shop. Park enjoyed fishing, gardening, and all aspects of nature.
At his request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, Park would love to know that children from St. Jude Hospital or the Shriners would benefit from a donation in his name.
