Civic, education leaders recognized as Trailblazers by Empowerment Tabernacle Inc. Feb. 18

Eleven Atmore civic and education leaders were presented 2024 Trailblazers Awards by Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center Inc. Feb. 18.
Bishop Catadro and Kim North presented the Trailblazers Awards.
Those who were presented awards included Lillie Johnson, president of the Yellow Hat Society; Marcia Adams, teacher at Escambia County Middle School; Sandra Gray, president of Concerned Citizens of Atmore; Willie J. Grissett, retired board member of the Escambia County (Ala.) Board of Education; Eunice Johnson, Atmore City Council; Cordia Y. Coleman-Lee, ECBOE; Judge Kaurean Reynolds, Reynolds Law Office; Jerome Webster Sr., Atmore City Council; Latoya Brown-West, ECBOE; Keiana Q. White, ECBOE; and Loumeek White, chairman, ECBOE.
Additionally, Catadro North, who is the senior pastor and founder of Empowerment, was presented a special award by his wife, Kim.
“On behalf of Empowerment Tabernacle, Pastor Kim and I extend heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in the Trailblazers Awards, a celebration of the living legends in our beloved community of Atmore,” Catadro said. “This event, now concluded, was a meaningful tribute to individuals whose unwavering support and significant contributions have truly shaped the city of Atmore. As we mark the end of Black History Month, the Trailblazers Awards stand as a testament to the strength, resilience and community spirit that define our remarkable city.”
Catadro said they were honored to spotlight the dedication of each of the award recipients.
“Their collective impact on civic leadership, education and community activism is immeasurable,” he said. “Empowerment Tabernacle is proud to stand alongside these individuals who continue to inspire us all. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr. Ulysses McBride and Mrs. Voncille Stallworth were not able to attend, but we are committed to personally delivering their well-deserved awards. We express our deepest appreciation to Empowerment Tabernacle for always supporting our community and everyone who contributed to the success of this event, and we eagerly anticipate continued collaboration in uplifting and strengthening our beloved community.”
