County commission announces countywide cleanup

The Escambia County Commission announced April 3 a countywide cleanup in coordination with Alabama PALS (People against a littered state).
According to a release, the commissioners are asking for volunteers to assist in the effort.
The county commissioners will provide garbage bags and sign-up sheets for volunteers. Contact your commissioner below:

Dumpsters will be provided beginning April 22-27 at the following locations:
- 13533 Hwy 29 – Boykin/Damascus – County Shop
- 3251 Pea Ridge Road – Brewton – County Shop
- 351 Jack Springs Road – Atmore – County Shop
- Springhill – Ridge Road – East Brewton
- 22475 Hwy 31 – Flomaton Firehouse
No tires, electronics, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, paint or household garbage is permitted.
Tires, electronics, batteries, fluorescent bulbs and ballasts will be accepted only on April 27 at the following locations:
- 13533 Hwy 29 – Boykin/Damascus – County Shop
- 3251 Pea Ridge Road – Brewton – County Shop
- 351 Jack Springs Road – Atmore – County Shop
- 22475 Hwy 31 – Flomaton Firehouse
Please follow the instructions of personnel as these items must go into special dumpsters. The hours for the special items are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. only on April 27.
