Mrs. Duffie Newton Wells, 94, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024 in Century, Fla., surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Benjamin and Mittie Mae Armstrong Newton; husband of 55 years, John T. Wells; brother, John Ira Newton; sister, Louise Dockens; grandson, Trevor Benjamin Wells; son in law, Don Grant; and great granddaughter, Kinsey Williamson

Mrs. Wells is survived by her son, Claude Benjamin “Ben” (Patsy) Wells of Destrehan, La.; three daughters, Linda (Joe) Lister of Flomaton, Brenda Sue Hauer of Brandon, Miss. and Faye Grant of McDavid, Fla.; sister, Martha Sims of Century; two sisters in law, Stella Knowles and Emma Lee Newton; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held this Sun., May 19, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC with the Rev. Jonathan Hill officiating.
Burial will follow at Byrneville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on May 19, 2024 from 2 p.m. until service time at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Varner, Nathan White, Grant Matlock, John Wells, Stephen Wells and Kenny Williamson.
