Mrs. Brenda Stewart Spence, 83, passed away peacefully in Pensacola, Fla. with her family by her bedside on June 17, 2024 , after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years and 11 months, Alton Spence; parents, Frank Johnson and Mattie Bell Downey Stewart; six sisters, Christine Heathcock, Frances Hadley, Dorothy Goodson, Evelyn Goins, Jeannette Fickling and Annette McCullough; six brothers, Frank Stewart Jr., Edward Stewart, Everette Stewart, Ivan Stewart, Winston Stewart and Calvin Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Howard Spence of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Connie (Wendell) Harden of Harvest; grandchildren, Jessica Ingram of Walnut Hill, Gunnar Harden of Portland, Ore., Hunter Spence of Walnut Hill, Fisher Spence of Atmore and Savannah Spence of Atmore; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held at Pineville Community Cemetery today, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 3 p.m. with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.
