Hilda Lara Solis Hiebert was born Aug. 11, 1946, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, to Gustavo and Eva Lara. She passed away at the home of her sister, Karina in Angie, La., at the end of a cancer journey spanning more than four years. She reached the age of 77.
Hilda leaves two sons, Steve and Lynette of Walnut Hill, Fla., and Kendall and Rhonda of Arcadia, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Genesee, Darren and Clara Jo, Lindsey and Zachary Baerg, Marcus and Mia; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gustavo Jr., of Saltillo, Aaron, of Saltillo, Jose (Pepe) and Elizabeth (Licha) Lara, of San Antonio, Texas, Irma Lara of Angie, Mariza Lara, of Saltillo and Karina and Craig Graham, of Angie; and many dear nephews, nieces and a host of special and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents; and one sister in law.
Funeral services were held on June 30, 2024 at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. Ministers Mike Koehn, (Galen Schmidt), and (Carlos Koehn) officiated. Burial followed at the Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
