Atmore woman arrested on criminal mischief arrest warrant

An Atmore woman was arrested on a criminal mischief warrant July 8, according to officials.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Lawanna Hurst, 43, was arrested for criminal mischief I.

McMann said the arrest stems from an incident that occurred on North Main Street and Brooks Lane on Sept. 16, 2023 at approximately 3 p.m. He added that officers responded to the address in reference to a criminal mischief complaint.

“During the investigation, the officers discovered that the victim and Lawanna Hurst, age 43, of Atmore, had been having an on-going dispute,” he said. “Hurst damaged the victim’s vehicle causing several thousand dollars in damage. An arrest warrant for Hurst was obtained by an investigator for criminal mischief I.”

McMann said the warrant was served on Hurst on July 8, 2024 at the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
