Repton man arrested July 25 on obstructing justice charges

A Repton man was arrested July 25 on obstructing justice using a false identity charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Michael Baggett, 41, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice using a false identity.

McMann said at approximately 12:45 a.m. on the day of the arrest, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 21 near Interstate 65 in reference to a moving violation.

“During the interaction with the officer, the driver (Baggett) provided a false social security number,” McMann said. “The officer was able to positively identify Baggett, and discovered he had several active misdemeanor warrants with the Atmore Police Department.”

Baggett was arrested and then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
