A Walnut Hill, Fla. woman was arrested Aug. 18 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Victoria Burkett, 36, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McMann said at approximately 1:15 a.m. the day of the arrest, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on North Main Street on a vehicle with only one headlight. McMann said the officer contacted Burkett.
“During the officers’ interaction with Burkett, he developed cause to search the vehicle and discovered a syringe containing methamphetamine and other items commonly used to ingest narcotics,” McMann said.
Burkett was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
