Flomaton man suffers critical injuries in Aug. 18 crash

A Flomaton man suffered critical injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Old Flomaton Road Aug. 18, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the FHP, the 28-year-old Flomaton man, along with a passenger of Bay Minette, were riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Old Flomaton Road, approximately 2 miles south of the Alabama line.
FHP officials said in a release that for an unknown reason, the driver drove off the roadway to the right, and lost control of the motorcycle, causing the crash at approximately 8:25 p.m.
Both the driver and passenger were throw from the motorcycle.
FHP officials said the driver was flown by helicopter as a trauma alert to a local trauma center. The passenger, who suffered minor injuries, was transported by ground to another hospital.
FHP officials said the crash remains under investigation.
