McMann said at approximately 12:25 p.m. on the day of the arrest, an APD officer responded to the emergency room at Atmore Community Hospital in reference to a domestic violence incident.
“The suspect, Juan Garcia-Galvin, 41, of Atmore, has children in common with the victim and they live in separate residences,” McMann said. “During the investigation, the officers discovered that Galvin (allegedly) broke into the victims residence earlier on the 23rd at around 2:30 a.m. while armed with a knife.”
McMann added that Galvin allegedly struck the victim multiple times causing injury.
“Galvin used force to prevent the victim from leaving the residence, took the victim’s cell phone and stole the victim’s vehicle when he left,” he said. “Officers began searching for Galvin and conducted a traffic stop on Galvin at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the 23rd as he was driving the victim’s vehicle.”
Galvin was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
