An Atmore man was arrested recently on possession and public intoxication charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Tobias Moore, 43, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
McMann said at approximately 12:25 p.m. on the day of the arrest, APD officers responded to a business on West Ridgeley Street in reference to a disorderly person. The officers then contacted Moore, he added.
“The officers believed Moore was under the influence of some type of narcotic due to his strange behavior,” McMann said. “The officers took Moore into custody for safety reasons. While searching Moore’s person, the officers discovered a small amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.”
Moore was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
