Bay Minette man arrested Sept. 14 on domestic violence, resisting arrest charges

A Bay Minette man was arrested Sept. 14 on domestic violence and resisting arrest charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Lajerrick Crook, 32, was charged with two counts of domestic violence II in reference to burglary and stalking and one count of resisting arrest.

McMann said that at approximately 11:50 p.m. on the day of the arrest, APD officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of 4th Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance to check on the well being of the victim.

McMann said Crook had allegedly been threatening the victim for several days.

“While the responding officers were checking to see if Crook was on the property, they found him hiding in a locked detached room to the house,” McMann said. “While the officers were taking Crook into custody, he began pulling away and not complying with commands. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.”

Crook was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
