Bernice Duncan “Mee Maw” Respress, 97, of Atmore, passed away on Oct. 13, 2024 in Century, Fla.

She was born on September 8, 1927 in Opp to Robert Levi and Rosa Lee Reeves Duncan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvis Respress; and her siblings, Tom Duncan, Dow Duncan, Arrona Norris, Rudell Thomas and Brunize Parish.

She is survived by her son, Benny Alvin (Bobbie) Respress of Atmore; her grandchildren, Leslie (Ray) Sellers and Tyler (Ashley) Respress; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Sellers, Myles Sellers, Sara Respress and Kara Respress.

Funeral services will be held on Wed., Oct. 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens in Atmore.

Active pallbearers will be Ray Sellers, Jackson Sellers, Kenny Duncan, Jerry Parish, Joey Parish and John Hassebrock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Morgan Mason, Matthew Mason, Randall Musgrove and Heath Fillmore.

Visitation will be held on Oct. 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. until service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
