City council approves amended ECHS Homecoming Parade route Monday

The Atmore City Council approved an amended Escambia County High School Homecoming Parade route during its regular meeting Monday night.
The parade route will run from the intersection of North Main Street and Ridgeley Street to Lindberg Avenue, and ends at the high school. The parade begins at 1:30 p.m.
Escambia County will face Satsuma this Fri., Oct. 18 for homecoming.
In other business, the city:
- adopted resolution 2024-22, a grass and weed nuisance second resolution. The first resolution was approved during the Sept. 9 meeting, and is now ready for implementation, Building and Zoning Department’s Chris Black said.
- approved an ABC Retail Beer License for Diamond No. 22, located at 1421 S. Main St.; and,
- approved Main Street Atmore’s annual Witches Ride, which will take place on Fri., Oct. 25, at 6 p.m., right after the Trick-or-Treat on the Street event.
The Witches Ride starts at Boxcar Willie, takes a right turn on North Main Street, a left turn on East Craig Street, a left turn on South Presley Street and a left onto Ridgeley Street, ending at the boxcar.
