Atmore man arrested Oct. 30 on drug possession charges

An Atmore man was arrested Oct. 30 on drug possession charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Donnie Victor, 44, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Lindberg Avenue in reference to a vehicle not displaying a license plate and the taillights were not working.

McMann said the officer then made contact with Victor, the driver.

“The officer checked Victor’s identification and discovered that Victor had an outstanding arrest warrant in reference to a probation violation for dangerous drugs through the Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Office,” McMann said. “A K-9 officer at the scene deployed his K-9. The K-9 alerted the on the vehicle.”
McMann said Victor was then placed under arrest in reference to the arrest warrant.

“A probable cause search was initiated due to the K-9 alerting on the vehicle,” he said. “During the search, the officers discovered a small amount of methamphetamine, hydrocodone and items used to ingest narcotics.”

Victor was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
