“Upon arriving at the scene, the officers contacted William Kelson, age 52, of Mobile, as he was attempting to leave the store,” McMann said. “The officers attempted to identify Kelson who at first provided a false name and date of birth. Upon identifying Kelson, the officers discovered that Kelson had an active felony arrest warrant through the Baldwin County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Office in reference to a (sex offender registration notification act) violation.”

McMann added that while searching Kelson, the officers discovered over a dozen naproxen pills, a small amount of crack cocaine and items that are used to ingest narcotics.

Kelson was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
