John Howard McGhee, 74, of Atmore, passed away on Nov. 14, 2024 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1949 to Ebb McGhee and Jewel Willene Partin McGhee.

John is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jonathan Derek Perry; one daughter, Lecie Jo McGhee; and his siblings Tommy Earl McGhee, Bobby Lee McGhee, Preston “Pete” McGhee and Christine McGhee Parker.

John is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson Hons of Atmore; his sons Zachary (Lauren) McGhee of Simpsonville, S.C. and Jacob (Allison) McGhee of Daphne; their mother, Sandra McGhee of Simpsonville; his sisters, Betty McGhee (Curtis) Peacock of Poarch and Angela McGhee DeVilbiss of Perdido; and one grandchild, Veronica, who is on the way.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Nov. 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore. Interment will follow in New Home Cemetery in Poarch.

Pallbearers will be Deldon Roy McGhee, Troy McGhee, Emmanuel McGhee, Perry McGhee, Bobby Joe McGhee and Ryan McGhee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Odell McGhee, Scott Watkins, Ronnie Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Tyler McGhee and William Bailey.

Visitation will be held on Wed., Nov. 20, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Poarch Community Church in Poarch.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
