Four Escambia County Blue Devils finished in double figures Friday night, but Jackson edged out a 62-60 double overtime victory in Atmore.
Cleo Bolar led ECHS with 22 points. He added eight rebounds and steals each in the effort. KJ Taylor contribued with 12 oints and four rebounds; and Tai Henderson and Carmelo Thomas had 11 points each.
Blue Devils basketball coach Rafael Adams said the game went down to the wire, and the players fought hard.
“It was a great game,” Adams said. “I enjoyed coaching against coach (Anthony) Hayes. He coached a great agme, and I learned a lot from this game about my team.”
Adams said Taylor and Bolar have to be the best duo he’s seen in years. He added that Henderson, Thomas and She’Marrion Matthews played great roles on both sides of the ball.
