William "Bill" Brooks

Mr. William Bill' Brooks, 75, of Pensacola, died thursday, March 28, 2002, at a local hospital.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Conecuh County. He worked at St. Regis Paper Company for 30 years and retired in 1979. He was a member of Ensley Nazarene Church and Chairman of the Trustees for 17 years. He was a WWII veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Mae Brooks of Pensacola; a daughter, Annice Moore of Bay Minette; two brothers, Carter Brooks of Bay Minette and Larry Brooks of Uriah; three sisters-in-law, Annie Smith of Molino, Lucille Killingsworth of McCullough and Jewell Manning of Pace; three brothers-in-law, Houston Smith of Molino, Earl Manning of Montgomery and Albert Manning of Montgomery; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 21 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at Eastern Gate Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Brown officiating and Bro. Louis Powell assisting.
Burial followed at McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Larry Brooks, Andy Brooks, Kenneth Brooks, Keith Brooks, J. E. Godwin and Vernon Barnhill. Honorary pallbearers were James Bennett, Ernest Woolum, Jarrett Jackson, James Elliott, Earl Eddins and Joel Jackson.
Eastern Gate Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
