Mr. Willie James McBride, 54, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore and member of Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Church. He was a 1969 graduate of Escambia County Training School and had served in the U. S. Army. He worked as a funeral director for many years with Robinson Funeral Home and had worked as a dispatcher for the Atmore Police Department
Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mamie Grissett McBride; two sisters, Betty McBride and MArgaret Locket and two brothers, James McBride and John McBride.
He is survived by his wife, WIllie Pearl McBride of Atmore; four daughters, Vonda Leslie, Shameka Leslie and Felicia Leslie, all of Atmore and Sondra Leslie of Mobile; two sisters, Mary Ethel Bolden and Dorothy McBride, both of Atmore; two brothers, Dr. Ulysses McBride and his wife, Mabel, of Atmore and Evander McBride of Lanett and four grandchildren.
Leona Litwiller Peters
Mrs. Leona Litwiller Peters, 81 of Walnut Hill died Friday, April 5, 2002, in Pensacola.
She was a homemaker, born in Gratiot County, Mich. Mrs. Peters was a Member of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Peters, a daughter, Kathy Peters and two grandsons, Sheldon Iutzi and Nicholas Peters
Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband, Orval Peters of Walnut Hill; a son, Ken Peters and his wife, Tracie, of Uniontown, Ohio; two daughters Sandra lutzi and her husband, Melvin and Karen Smith and her husband, Larry, all of Walnut Hill; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Ressler of Uniontown and ten grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday April 9 at 10 a.m. at Walnut Hill Mennonite church, with Ministers, Wilbert Peters, Verle Peters, Mike Koehn and Galen Harms officiating. Burial followed at Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers were Alvin Litwiller, Melvin Kaufmann, John Kaufmann, Hank Kaufmann, Barry Kaufmann, Ed Kaufmann and Wayne Litwiller.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
