National Cattle Judging Winner
Third-place winner in the family division of the largest national dairy cattle judging contest of its kind is the Joe Easterwood family of Randolph County.
Williams Is Winner Of Golf Tourney
H.C. Williams, Atmore post-master, won the championship flight in the Atmore Country Club's 20th annual golf tournament played on the local club's links last Thursday.

Escambia County farmers have been asked to report the planted acreage of corn, cotton, peanuts, grain sorghum, barley and wheat to the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS).

2 Atmoreans Win Races At Flomaton Saturday
Bo Pierce of Flomaton won the helmet dash, Ricky Copeland of Atmore won the first heat race, Foots Kimmons of Milton finished first in the second heat, and Raymond Lambeth of Flomaton placed first in the mechanics race.
Flomaton Mishap
Seven boxcars in a L&N freight train derailed at 2:13 P.m. Monday in downtown Flomaton, striking a power line and causing a blackout in the downtown area for several hours. No one was injured in the wreck.

Blueberry Festival Set
The 12th annual Alabama Blueberry Festival will be held Saturday, June 20, at the Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shady campus opens its doors to thousands of festival visitors each year.

The Atmore Band Boosters are sponsoring Summer Singing '92 to be held Friday, June 19, 7 p.m. until…, at the Herbert Barnes Stadium at Escambia County High School.
Bells, Bars Recommended At Crossings
A team of Alabama Highway Department officials this week officially recommended that bells, whistles and bars be installed at four railroad crossings in Atmore.
Eagles Victorious Again By Beating Bears
A 14-8 victory for the Eagles Thursday moved them into a second-place tie with the Tigers. It was the Bears who fell prey to the Eagles in the night's action in minor league.
Door-to-Door Volunteers Sought
The Leukemia Society of America, Alabama Chapter, is recruiting volunteers for its annual door-to-door campaign set for Sept. 1-13.
